MORT ROSEN

Recently new to the Tropical Orchid Society, Mort Rosen is an avid orchid appreciator as well as professional photographer. Mort is currently the president of the Coral Lakes Camera Club in Boynton Beach and has been a professional photographer for the past 50 years. As a New York state and national award winning photographer, he has photographed such notables as Nobel Prize winners, State Supreme Court Justices, and the Chief Science Advisor to president Ronald Reagan. As the head of the Technical Photographic Department at Brookhaven National Lab on Long Island, Mort photographed from helicopters, in mines below the ground and in many other exciting locations. He has to his credit numerous book, magazine and technical journals covers throughout the world. His portrait of Dr. George Cotzias, a pioneer in the use of L-Dopa as a treatment for Parkinson’s disease, was chosen by the Greek government to appear on a stamp to commemorate this important work.

Mort is also a photographer at our meetings and a contributor for our website! We thank you for your contribution to our gallery and look forward to many more beautiful photos!
